"Just someone who rose from humble roots," Sally admitted. "She and Hector Clet are just friends, and she's here mostly because of you."

"For me?" Frank asked, puzzled.

Sally laughed. "You'll understand in time, but not now—that's why I can't say yet. As for Hector Clet… let's just say he's no angel, so you'd best watch your back."

She did not actually have to tell Frank that—he understood that Hector was more than what he seemed, and some sort of secret had been hidden in the box given to him.

Sally winked at Frank just then. "Can you let me go now? I've answered your question, and it hurts!"

Frank snorted coolly but released her. "I'd best not find out that you were up to some cheap trick, or I won't show mercy."

Sally giggled. "I'm actually looking forward to that!"

Frank ignored her and placed the box on the table as he opened it.

It was a rectangular machine with an LCD machine on top and three buttons below it, but without any labels or words.

And there was an indentation lower down, which looked like it could fit Frank's ring.

When Sally saw it, she smiled. "I'm surprised that the group has such advanced technology, inventing something like that! That said… Do you really trust them, handsome?"

Frank ignored her and instead asked, "Are you staying here?"

Seeing that Frank was not allowing her to stay, Sally simply beamed and left, while Frank took off his ring.

He glanced at the indentation, and seeing nothing inside, he wondered if he should put the ring in it.
