Before the cabal could react, molehills appeared beneath their feet and sent them flying.
Most passed out when they hit the ground, while the rest were barely holding on.
"W-Who the hell are you?!"
The cabal had grown conceited since they did not have many rivals in a remote corner such as this one, and they therefore presumed that no one could challenge them.
And now, they could not win with numbers against Frank, let alone one against one.
Could anyone bear the shame?
"What a bunch of mooks. I told you kids to stay on your training, but none of you listened. And now you're acting surprised?"
A hunched hag appeared on a nearby alley, looking very much affable.
Surprised, the cabal exclaimed, "What are you doing here, ma'am?"
"Do you think I'd miss the tremors?" the hag snapped coolly before wheeling on Frank. "Impressive physique! I certainly didn't expect you to hurt those boys."
The cabal quickly warned her, "This isn't the time, ma'am. He knows earthbending, and he could even do it better—you have to run!"
The hag rolled her eyes. "What am I, some spoiled brat? You think I wouldn't have improved?
"I usually hold back because I wouldn't want to crush your confidence, but things are different now—this boy might think himself invincible if I don't show him otherwise."
With those words, she stamped her foot, and a nearby hill shook with a resounding rumble.
As he floated into the air, the hag leapt into the air as well, borrowing the force of the shockwave and smirking. "Good boy. Now listen to me when I tell you to stop, or you're going to die."
Frank picked his ears. "Sorry, I don't get why I should. Sure, you're in the top five among the opponents I've faced, but that's all you are. Do you think you stand a chance when you're not even first? Know your place and kill yourself already."
The cabal was snapping at Frank even before the hag did, "Look in the mirror before you talk, brat! How dare you holler at our lady!
"I don't mind giving it to you straight—everyone who has ever challenged her has died. Keep being stubborn, and you'd literally lose your head!"
Frank sighed. "I tried playing nice, really. Guess I just have to show you reality."
With just a thought, the earthen fissures rumbled as it closed itself!
Even the fragments of asphalt roads were also reassembled by an unseen force, and soon, it was good as new—like nothing had ever happened!
