As it turned out, the white-clad geezer did not return for revenge.
People change as they age, along with their mindset, and develop a longing for their hometown.
In fact, the white-clad geezer had returned to make peace with his family, and died in their company.
Naturally, he was furious to hear that someone was using his name to bluff their way out and abduct his niece, the hag.
And so he came with the rest of them, looking for Frank.
After all, if Frank was not sent by the white-clad geezer, the only other person would be…
-
Back at the present, the white-clad geezer growled icily, "Where is my niece?"
Frank smirked. "She paid the price for her crimes. What, do you want revenge?"
"A life for a life," the white-clad geezer growled. "That's the one rule that has never changed since olden times!"
His entourage roared in approval. "Don't get so full of yourself, brat! He is different from the rest of us, and he can kill you anytime!"
"Really?" Frank simply snorted nonchalantly.
Losing all patience, the white-clad geezer growled icily, "Last chance, brat! Return my niece, or you're dead!"
Frank smiled in wry amusement. "Don't you understand human language? She's dead!"
"What?!"
The white-clad geezer and his entourage were astonished.
"You have no right to lecture me!" the white-clad geezer bellowed. "She was flesh and blood. Even if she made a mistake, she should be given a second chance to—"
Frank cut him off right then. "Two people of flesh and blood were murdered. Who's going to give them a second chance?"
The white-clad geezer was stunned—unlike his niece, he was well aware that his own reasoning made no sense.
The reason he was arguing at all was because he thought Frank to be young and inexperienced, that his own arguments would somehow stump Frank or lure him into a trap, after which he would lead Frank by the nose.
The white-clad geezer just did not expect Frank to be impervious to anything he said, persistently mentioning the geezer's parents who were murdered for no reason. And with that being a fact set in stone, the white-clad geezer's attempt to argue against that was reduced to mere sophistry.
"Since you refuse to admit your mistake, then I have no reason to hold back!"
Raising his palm, the white-clad geezer slammed it violently on the ground, launching a terrible tremor at Frank!
