While Drunken Moon was determined to not let Frank slip through her fingers, she was still embarrassed since this was her first time.
She blushed even harder at Frank's words and shouted in the direction of the door, "Hold on!"
Then, speeding into the bathroom to get changed and running out, Frank opened the door to see the bellgirl with a shaman standing beside her.
Or a demisage, to be precise!
He was shaved bald and had a brand over his forehead, but he was holding a Ouija board and sported a goatee, looking just like the charlatans on TV.
If the demisage had not pointed out precisely which room was haunted, the bellgirl would not have let him in at all!
"Greetings!"
The demisage nodded at Frank and Drunken Moon before turning toward the bathroom.
Then, turning back towards Frank approvingly, he said, "If I'm not mistaken, you're the one who destroyed the creature that was inside?"
Frank nodded. "You have a good eye, but do tell—how did you know this was the room?"
"That's easy—with this!"
The demisage smiled, holding up the Ouija board at Frank, who nodded. "It really is a mystic item. Not bad."
The demisage held up a hand. "I'm not here to socialize, kid. I have something that needs your attention. Aside from the foulness you've vanquished, more linger in the vicinity.
Drunken Moon was puzzled. "If your mentor left it to you, why can't you obtain it? Why would a stranger like him could? Or perhaps your mentor foresaw his arrival?"
The demisage smiled, shaking his head. "You're not quite right there, ma'am. It's not as if this gentleman was predicted to come here specifically—it's a figure drawn by destiny. To put it in layman terms, anyone who can close that door is strong, and only a strong individual is able to obtain that item!"
Drunken Moon nodded in realization—it must have been something like Thor's hammer, which could only be lifted by the worthy!
"Then let's proceed, sir!"
Frank nodded and told Drunken Moon to watch her back, while he left with the demisage.
Along the way, demisage innocently asked Frank about his lineage, but Frank chuckled. "I'm a loner without connections. In fact, I've only just met the lady from earlier, and we're not particularly close."
