Frank was perplexed. "Why waste androids? Just leave it to me."
Still, Yancy smiled. "How could I bother you so often? Just let the android deal with it while you get some rest."
Seeing that she had made up her mind, Frank simply played along.
That was when strange footsteps resounded across the room—it was as if the entire hypogeum was shaking!
Yancy promptly took the pair of night vision goggles from her friend and realized that it was a rather tall monster.
He was wearing armor, but rot had already set in. Its joints were replaced by special mechanical parts too, like a cyborg!
"Amazing. The ancients really were smart!"
With her night vision goggles which also had a scanner function, she immediately analyzed the age of the machine structure, which was just over a few centuries ago.
And that meant it was made by the ancients!
"That scamp… Hiding the good stuff and never telling me," Yancy complained as she directed the android, intent on testing the freak's ability.
However, the android had barely gotten close to it when the monster punched it.
Crash!
With just a touch, the droid blew up into pieces right then!
"What?!" Yancy was shocked.
Sure, her android was no match against Frank, but how could its cyborg chassis be defeated so easily?
Frank reached out to take it by instinct, but even as the glass left the monster's palm, it dropped on the floor with a thud, shattering into dust!
"That was an accident!" Frank promptly exclaimed.
"I'm not blind—I can see that." Yancy smiled, and went over to take the marble ball while studying it. "Interesting … it's a glassy form of jadeite!"
"What does that mean?" Frank asked in bemusement.
"There are different grades of jadeite," Yancy explained. "Glassy ones like this are the most expensive!"
Frank snorted in annoyance. "I know about the grades and what glassy jadeites mean in quality. I'm just asking why it only looks like one."
"I wouldn't know," Yancy replied, shaking her head. "The sensors aren't detecting energy readings either. Let's keep going."
