The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage romance Capítulo 2856

Yancy nodded in understanding.

In the end, Cicero's conscience was eating him up—as soon as he decided Frank was hostile, he took action.

If he did not, he just had to insist he lost the money at an illegal casino no matter how Frank tried to probe.

Frank could not do anything against that, and certainly not torture him.

Moreover, Cicero was no tough guy.

As Frank locked him in his own room, he realized that Frank really had a way to save Yancy.

Giving up on pointless resistance, he shouted, "I'll talk! I'll tell you everything! Just let me go!"

Frank went over to his room, asking, "You could've just done that earlier. So tell me, why the elaborate scheme? What's it for?"

Cicero suddenly seemed to find his spine again. "It's a very important secret. I can't really tell you…"

Frank glowered in annoyance. "Then you can die with it."

"Wait, wait, wait!" Cicero promptly cried. "I'll talk, okay?

"T-The truth is that my wife was never dead, but she's being targeted by people much more powerful than you could ever imagine. We had to put up a show to trick them so that they think she's dead—that I killed her for self-defense."

Yancy arrived just then but was even more puzzled by Cicero's explanation. "If you killed her through self-defense, wouldn't that just be insurance fraud?"

"How dumb were we? We should've gone straight to forensics from the start!"

Frank smiled, shaking his head. "Don't worry—they had definitely planned ahead and made sure forensics couldn't find anything.

"As for the fingerprint… That's a mistake on our part. The spirit showed it to me not to tell me who the murderer is, but to tell us who her real family is."

Hearing that, Cicero shook his head, looking down and sighing. "It's our bad luck that people like you stumbled on our crime. Go on, just kill me… you can do anything you want to me, but just don't kill my wife."

"Did you think I wouldn't?"

Frank smirked. "You and your wife committed murder and tried to pass the victim off as her. And you don't have to be sad either. I won't just find your wife—I'll ascertain the situation myself before deciding if I should deal with your wife's hunters."
