Frank laughed. "Next time? Give me a break. Next time, you'd be sticking a dagger up my back!"
Not only was he impersonating Cicero, but he felt no sympathy for Beauty at all.
At this point, even the real Cicero would probably kill her where she stood.
It was simple—loyalty, once broken, would be gone forever.
Who knew what Beauty would do next time if she was not destroyed?
"No! Are you kidding?! You must be!"
Beauty could hardly believe that the man before her was the same man who had fallen head over heels for her.
"Kidding? Who do you think you are? It's more like you're the one who's kidding!"
Seizing Beauty by the neck, Frank lifted her toward the window. He then checked to make sure no one was beneath before kicking it into pieces and holding her outside.
Seeing that she was going to be thrown down, Beauty's pride faded as she begged Frank endlessly instead.
Frank simply laughed. "It's too late for regrets, and I find you unworthy of any sympathy, to be honest. If anything, you have every reason to die."
And with those words, he let go of her.
Even as Beauty screamed, she did everything she could to save herself.
Frank had anticipated that, however, and easily nullified any techniques she had, allowing her to die with endless regret and grief.
Frank certainly would not since it was the rule.
Nodding and trusting the landlord to be fair, he allowed the man to go upstairs to check.
The landlord hurried upstairs, absolutely overjoyed.
On the other hand, Yancy was frowning. "Watch out—pricks like him are a real handful. You're screwed if he tries anything funny."
Frank smiled, shaking his head. "Don't worry. There are plenty of good people out there in the whole wide world!"
Half an hour later, the landlord returned glowing as he held his phone at Frank's face, scrolling through various photos as he complained, "Look, I'm not swindling you, but you did break my stuff.
"It's only reasonable that you compensate me. I won't ask for much since you've already paid me so much… So I'll just ask for ten grand."
