Lucy frowned. "Most importantly, I'm pregnant. Ghost wasn't interested in that… though one could say that he's only interested in virgins."
"Virgins…" Frank muttered under his breath.
Could that have something to do with the spiritrion vein?
"We're here."
Just as they were finished chatting, Lucy gestured for Frank to stop outside a crowded alley in the bustling business district.
And at the very end was a karaoke bar, illuminated with myriad lights.
Frank frowned. "Is that…?"
"Yeah. The one we went to on that day," Lucy said and alighted.
"Is that so?" Frank narrowed his eyes.
It was a very quiet place, and there was no one working in the lobby—only one half-asleep geezer was leaning against the front desk.
"Just wait. I'll get you a window," Lucy whispered impassively at the front. "I just hope you can seize the moment to kill Ghost in a single strike."
Frank grinned. "I'll try."
Lucy then walked up to the geezer, shouting, "Excuse me!"
"Huh?"
The geezer opened his drowsy eyes, and waved off Lucy and Frank impatiently as soon as he saw them. "Get out… We're not open yet… Karaoke in broadlight? Buzz off…"
"I want to see Ghost," Lucy pressed, sliding several dollar bills into the geezer's hand.
The geezer did a double take.
Then, shooting Lucy a look of disbelief, he chuckled coolly. "What, do you think you get to meet Ghost just because you want to?! Fuck off!"
Even as he snapped, he slid the dollar bills into his pocket…
"Oh, and here I wondered who it could be… It's just you, Lucy!"
The man with a square jaw and wore a nice suit came over, flashing a smile that did not quite reach his eyes.
Even as Lucy scowled, she said bluntly, "I want to see Ghost."
"Not a problem. But have you forgotten our previous agreement?"
Mr. Moore leaned down to sniff Lucy, grinning. "Three days. You had three days to bring us a virgin in exchange for your freedom, or both you and Zac are dead. Or did I get anything wrong?"
Hearing that, Lucy twitched uncomfortably.
Even as she looked at Frank, she was obviously trying her best to keep a lid on her emotions. "I found her, but I'm not bringing her yet. Also, this man is a professor of East City University. He has plenty of girls studying under him, so we'd like to negotiate a deal with Ghost."
"Me? Professor?" Frank blinked, but more or less understood now.
It seemed that Lucy was lying to him as well!
