The car pulled up to the hotel. Sienna Shaw helped Zachary Shaw out of his vehicle and into his wheelchair. A crowd was already waiting outside; the hotel had stopped accepting outside guests for the past few days just to prepare for their arrival. The general manager practically sprinted forward, wiping sweat from his brow. "Mr. Shaw, right this way. Every inch of the hotel has been completely sanitized."
The Shaw Group's latest project was massive. If it went through, Oceanport would get a brand-new harbor, and the local economy would skyrocket.
Coupled with the recent launch of the island's tourism campaign, they were expecting a massive influx of visitors. Naturally, the VIPs checking in today were treated like royalty.
Winona Wynn walked at the very back of the group. As a staff member handed her a room key, she heard Logan Quinn's sharp voice up ahead. "Didn't I tell you to put all our rooms together?"
The manager froze, frantically wiping his forehead again. "Well... Ms. Shaw mentioned that Ms. Wynn prefers her peace and quiet, so we arranged a private suite for her at the very end of the hall."
Logan's expression darkened. Just as he was about to reprimand the man, Winona let out a light laugh. "Leave it. That actually works perfectly for me."
Without missing a beat, she turned and headed straight for the end of the corridor.
Sienna looked down, her voice small and tentative. "Logan, I just thought that since Winona and Zachary always seem to argue, and she never looks happy to see me... I thought I was helping."
She hung her head, the picture of remorse for a good deed gone wrong.
Logan, of course, didn't dare snap at her. He still hadn't figured out the true nature of the CEO's relationship with this woman. Forcing a tight smile, he replied, "You were just trying to help, Sienna. I was only asking."
The rest of the entourage remained dead silent, the hotel executives looking as if they were bracing for a firing squad.
In the midst of the heavy tension, Zachary simply steered his wheelchair toward his own room.
It was a silent pardon. He wasn't going to pursue the matter.
Everyone collectively exhaled, quickly distributing the rest of the room keys.
Sienna's room was right next to Zachary's, with Logan directly across the hall. Lydia Young was placed closer to Winona's end of the corridor, given that they were technically on this business trip together.
Winona's phone buzzed with an itinerary from the broadcasting station, along with several draft proposals for the island's promotional campaign.
