"And what if I happen to be above the law? What about it?" The man said, a nasty smile on his face.
Wilbur was immediately annoyed by his response.
He was about to have a little "chat" with the man when the owner of the cafe rushed over. "Don't get angry, everyone! Please, let's all calm down a little."
"He hasn't paid," Wilbur reminded the owner.
The owner looked meaningfully at Wilbur, turning to smile at the trio. "Have a nice day, and please come again."
Wilbur raised his eyebrows. The trio, however, were fired up and said to Wilbur, "See, I just didn't pay and got away with it. Got a problem with that?"
Wilbur frowned, looking at the cafe owner.
The cafe owner sighed softly, whispering to Wilbur, "That guy's from the food safety department. He's in charge of this side of town. He's not to be messed with."
So that was the case.
Yet Wilbur was still indignant. The authorities these days were considerably well-behaved. How did people like this still exist?
Wilbur looked at the man talking to him. "So what if you're from the food safety department? I don't think you're allowed to get away with not paying for your food just because of that."
"Well, I just did. What can you do about it?" The man did not seem ashamed in the slightest, raising his eyebrows at Wilbur.
Wilbur could not stand it anymore.
He got to his feet and looked the man right in the eye. "You're not leaving this place without paying."
The man seemed to refuse to back down as well. He walked right up to Wilbur. With his breath reeking of alcohol, he said, "I'd like to see how you are going to stop me from leaving."
Wilbur's irritation could no longer be held back and aimed a kick at the man, which sent him sprawling on the ground at once.
The man cried out in pain, rolling around on the ground.
The cafe owner was shocked at the sight, waving his hands in a panic. "Oh god! What am I going to do?"
All that talk, and Bernie just turned out to be a temporary staff member. No wonder he was such a piece of sh*t.
Bernie roared at Wilbur at once, "Listen up, bastard! My uncle's the person in charge of the sub-department! Do you think being a temp-hire is a joke? This idiot is closing his doors right now, and I'd like to see him go against me."
Bernie was still indignant, hellbent on leaving this place with the upper hand.
The cafe owner sighed. It was clear that he was no match for this Bernie guy.
Wilbur saw that and said to the cafe owner, "Don't worry. I'm not scared of him. Let's just forget about him. I'm not even scared of his uncle. As a matter of fact, I'll take care of both of them."
Bernie could not help but laugh at that. "You're quite boastful, aren't you?"
"I'm going to sit right here all day. I'd like to see if you can get this place shut down. You can get that uncle of yours to come here too." Wilbur sat back down at his table, continuing to eat.
Bernie saw that and fumed. "You're asking for it, you piece of sh*t! Do you really think I won't be able to f*ck you over?"
