It was a thinly veiled question asking if he planned to divorce her.
Zachary hadn't touched his food since Winona walked out. "I haven't made a decision yet."
Quincy knew perfectly well that Zachary must be thoroughly disgusted by Winona and likely wanted a divorce ages ago. But if he could move around freely now, why hadn't he dragged her to the courthouse?
Suddenly, it dawned on Quincy. After losing the use of his legs, there was no way Zachary was going to let Winona walk away unscathed. He was obviously keeping her trapped by his side, intending to torment her until he was satisfied.
In the business world, anyone who crossed Zachary was utterly destroyed. Now that someone had crippled his legs, how could he possibly let her live in peace?
The quieter he was, the more devastating the consequences would be.
Quincy picked up his glass and took a slow sip of wine. Unbidden, a memory of a young Winona flashed through his mind—the way she would timidly hide a perfect-score test behind her back, staring at him with desperate, craving eyes. That look had persisted for years, and he had never, not once, offered her a single word of validation.
His fingers tightened around the glass. From the corner of his eye, he saw Sienna dutifully comforting Claire, and that minuscule flicker of guilt vanished instantly.
She wasn't his blood. In the end, there was no real bond.
"Zachary, we've decided to throw an official welcome banquet for Sienna. Even though everyone in our circle knows she's a Wynn, there hasn't been a formal announcement. Since she's legally becoming a Wynn, we need to finalize her paperwork to officially transfer her estate status out of the Shaw family trust. What are your thoughts?"
Right now, their legal residency and estate statuses were tied to the same family register. If anything romantic were to develop between them, it would draw unwanted scrutiny.
But once her paperwork was officially transferred, any future relationship between them would be hailed as a perfect corporate romance.
As for his marriage to Winona, it was already dead in the water, lacking only a piece of paper to make the divorce official.
"I have no objections," Zachary replied coolly.
Hearing this, Quincy turned to Claire. "Stop sighing over there. She was never a Wynn to begin with, so it's perfectly normal that her loyalties don't lie with us."
Claire's chest tightened painfully, a forced smile pulling at her lips. "I still raised her for over two decades."
Catching the end of the conversation as he ran upstairs, Julian shouted, "Hurry up and host the banquet! If Zachary divorces Winona on the exact same day, that'd be killing two birds with one stone! Then we can announce his engagement to my real sister, leaving Winona completely isolated and alone! That's exactly what she deserves! Not like she gives a damn about anyone anyway!"
