Winona Wynn and Zachary Shaw novel CHAPTER 139 by Jade Emerson read online

She didn't know what happened after that, but following the incident, Vanessa's relationship with Sienna skyrocketed. Vanessa quickly became one of Sienna's most aggressive defenders.

At the time, Winona had felt nothing but a bone-deep chill. She had spent an entire month in the hospital recovering from the head wound, yet everyone, including the Lockwood family, had swarmed to comfort Sienna instead.

Since then, Vanessa made it her mission to mock and sneer at Winona every single time they crossed paths.

Tonight, Vanessa was wearing a dark gown, her chin lifted with unbridled arrogance. "My brother is here tonight, and so is Zachary. Keep your dirty tricks to yourself. If you dare try to bully Sienna in front of everyone, none of us will let you get away with it!"

Winona couldn't be bothered to engage. She refused to waste a single ounce of energy on the ghosts of her past.

But in Vanessa's eyes, Winona was simply jealous and losing her mind.

She sneered coldly. "You deserve every bit of this. Look at how everyone online is ripping you apart. If I were you, I would've just killed myself!"

Winona frowned, studying the raw disgust painted across the girl's face.

If Vanessa had a knife in her hands, she would gladly charge into battle for Sienna.

Finding the whole situation laughable, Winona leaned back against one of the grand marble pillars, her tone eerily nonchalant. "I never should have saved you. I should have let those thugs finish you off. The world would have one less idiot. That sounds perfectly lovely."

Vanessa froze. Once the words registered, her face flushed crimson with rage. "Winona, you are unbelievably shameless! What the hell are you talking about? Are you talking about when Sienna saved me from those thugs? Don't tell me you're trying to claim you were the one who saved me!"

Her eyes were brimming with loathing and mockery.

She already despised Winona with a burning passion, convinced that the woman was a pathological liar who ruthlessly bullied Sienna at every turn.

She never imagined the bitch could sink this low, actually trying to steal the credit for Sienna's heroic act!

It was the first time she had witnessed such utterly pathetic behavior!

It clicked for Winona instantly. Vanessa genuinely believed Sienna had saved her. No wonder she defended her like a rabid dog.
