What would he be like in bed?
She didn't dare let her imagination run wild, but every cell in her body was buzzing with anticipation.
However, the split second her fingers grazed his skin, his voice cut through the dark. "What are you doing?"
Sienna flinched, the intoxicating tension evaporating instantly as panic snapped her back to reality. "Zachary? Why are you in my room?"
She laced her tone with perfect shock, followed quickly by innocent concern. "I thought I was dreaming... Are you okay? Why is your skin so cold?"
She had intentionally spritzed on a seductive perfume. With her subtle movements, the scent drifted directly toward him.
Any man would go crazy for a scent like that. If he was still holding onto his rationality, it just meant the drug hadn't completely taken over yet.
She just needed to wait it out.
Regaining her composure, Sienna pulled a tissue from the nightstand and reached over to dab the sweat from his forehead. "You look like you're in pain. Are you sick? Let me call a doctor for you."
Zachary's thick lashes lowered. He raised his hand effortlessly and pushed her arm away. "No."
He gripped the wheels of his chair, turning it toward the door.
Sienna purposefully lunged forward, throwing her arms around his neck from behind. "Zachary, I'm so sorry, I..."
The overpowering scent of her perfume violently assaulted his senses. Zachary's brows knitted deeply, but he said nothing.
The room was dead silent, dripping with manufactured tension. Sienna breathed softly against his skin, desperate to just straddle his lap right then and there.
But she had to hold back. She needed the drug to peak.
Meanwhile, Winona had arrived at the hospital, where the on-call doctor carefully treated her wounds.
It took eight stitches to close the deep lacerations on her palms. The doctor strictly instructed her to keep them dry.
