Hers had probably been thrown in the trash years ago.
She nonchalantly grabbed a pair. Her husband had already been used by someone else, so borrowing someone else's slippers felt entirely justified.
She yawned again, completely drained.
She turned to Logan, who had just walked in. "Where's my luggage?"
She had arranged for her bags to be delivered straight from the airport, but they were nowhere to be seen.
"I had the staff take your bags up to the master bedroom, Mrs. Shaw."
Winona stared at him, bewildered. Was Logan completely oblivious? As Zachary's right-hand man, how could he not know how toxic their fallout had been?
Putting her things in the master bedroom was practically a guaranteed way to piss Zachary off.
She sighed and patted Logan on the shoulder. "You really need to work on your ability to read the room, buddy."
Having served Zachary for years, Logan merely lowered his gaze. "Perhaps my problem is that I read the room a bit too well, Mrs. Shaw."
Winona didn't bother analyzing that cryptic response and headed upstairs.
Downstairs, Sienna finally dragged Zachary inside and carefully eased him onto the sofa.
She stared at his face with raw, undisguised hunger, swallowing hard.
Right at that moment, Zachary's eyes slowly fluttered open. He furrowed his brow, massaging his temples with long fingers, the muscles in his wrists pulled taut.
Seizing the opportunity, Sienna asked softly, "Zach, can I stay the night?"
He gave a low hum of agreement, his eyes half-closed.
Sienna's face lit up with triumph. "I'll help you upstairs, then?"
"Yeah."
She quickly hooked her arm through his. Just as they reached the doorway of the master bedroom, Winona walked out, dragging a massive suitcase behind her.
The three of them froze, locking eyes in the hallway.
Sienna flashed a triumphant smirk. "Zach is drunk. I'm putting him to bed."
She fully expected Winona to lose her mind. In the past, Winona had been insanely territorial over him.
