And it was painfully obvious what kind of "cardio" she meant.

Winona just smiled and slammed the door in her face.

She had massive jet lag and zero interest in entertaining a cheap high school drama.

The heavy wood nearly crushed Sienna's nose.

Sienna was vibrating with rage, but since this was Zachary's house, she couldn't risk a tantrum and blow her perfect innocent cover.

She took a deep breath, picked up the bowl of hangover tea, and sashayed toward the master bedroom.

Sometime in the middle of the night, Winona drifted in and out of sleep, convinced she was hearing strange noises.

She rolled over, trying to ignore the rhythmic thudding against the wall.

She had always assumed the walls in this multimillion-dollar villa were soundproof. Clearly, she was wrong.

Irritated, she popped two melatonin gummies, shoved in some earplugs, and fell into a deep, dreamless sleep.

Whatever they were doing, and however long they did it, was none of her business.

She had been relocated back for work, and she needed to be bright-eyed for her first day at the new office tomorrow.

The next morning.

Winona finished getting dressed and walked out, nearly crashing into a fully suited Zachary at the top of the stairs.

Winona had finally seen the light. Zachary hadn't actually done anything maliciously wrong. He just hadn't loved her.

She had been too arrogant, forcing her childhood crush into a toxic, suffocating marriage.

If she had just let him go sooner, he wouldn't have treated her with such absolute freezing indifference.

Looking at it from his perspective, she suddenly realized how pathetic and exhausting her desperation must have been.

"Morning, Zachary," she greeted him calmly.

Her voice was perfectly even.

But Zachary just stared at her for a few agonizing seconds before walking past her and heading down the stairs.
