Winona Wynn and Zachary Shaw novel CHAPTER 95 by Jade Emerson read online

Seeing Vincent's silence, Sean knew Winona's words were almost certainly the truth.

His eyes darkened. He didn't care about the money or the power, but the idea of a bastard son stealing everything that rightfully belonged to him was a humiliation he refused to swallow.

He could choose to walk away, but he wouldn't let a bastard take it.

A cold smile touched his lips as he patted Victoria's shoulder. "Mom, go upstairs and get some rest. I'll figure out a way to handle Wesley's situation."

Victoria had been about to gloat about Winona's impending doom, but knowing Sean hated that kind of talk, she kept her mouth shut. She headed upstairs happily, but paused when she saw Vincent still rooted to the spot. "Honey, aren't you coming up?"

Vincent adjusted his glasses, shot Sean one last dark look, and slowly made his way upstairs.

Sean sat alone on the sofa. He rubbed his temples in the quiet room, a heavy, dangerous glint settling in his eyes as he finally made his decision.

Early the next morning, as Vincent arrived at the company for work, an extremist suddenly ambushed him, stabbing him three times. He was rushed to the emergency room.

Victoria fainted the second she heard the news.

Vincent survived the surgery, but he fell into a permanent vegetative state.

Victoria wept until she couldn't breathe, her eyes practically swollen shut. To make matters worse, news broke that Winona had been rescued the night before. The mercenaries had abandoned their truck and jumped into the river to escape.

By noon, the verdict on Wesley's case came through.

Under the weight of three back-to-back catastrophes, Victoria couldn't take it anymore and fainted again.
