Wayne took Pearl to the hospital where she brought Darius to see the same nurse.

The nurse was surprised to see Darius in such a bad state. Although the wounds weren't too serious, there were a lot of them, so he looked pitiful. "Put the child on the bed. Let me check him."

While the nurse treated Darius, Pearl clenched her fists, angry at Nina. She felt it was good that Nina had been swept out to sea because if Pearl had caught her, she wouldn't have let her off easily.

The nurse finished with the smaller wounds and then pointed at a cut on Darius's forehead. "This one is deep. We might need to stitch it."

Pearl nodded her agreement. "Yes, thank you."

The nurse cleaned up her tools. "Please wait here. I'll go get a doctor."

After the nurse left, Wayne approached Darius, who had fainted from the pain, and felt very sad. "What happened, Pea?"

Pearl's eyes were cold. "Luther used him to threaten me, but his sister took Darius. She's a lunatic and ended up hurting him."

Wayne was so angry he kicked a nearby chair, nearly waking Darius. Realizing his mistake, he spoke quieter but still furiously. "What a pair of sh*tty siblings. How could they do this to a child? And Luther even dared to call me. If I had known, I would've beaten him up at the beach."

Pearl was surprised to hear Wayne speak so angrily, but she knew he had children too and understood why he felt so protective of Darius.

"What are you going to do? Let them get away with this?" Wayne asked, not wanting to let the matter go.
