Esther crossed her arms and didn't even blink, standing firm after causing a stir. "Lead the way."

James started walking, but Esther wasn't quick to follow him. Instead, she turned to say goodbye to Pearl. "Pearl, Aunt Agnes wants to have a meal with me, and I can't say no to her. I have to go now."

Pearl looked like she wanted to say something but ended up sighing instead. "Alright, go ahead."

After Esther left, Hanzel breathed a sigh of relief.

"What's up? You seem really upset," Pearl asked.

Hanzel sighed again. "You don't know the half of it. I'm married, and she isn't. She's always looking to find faults in me."

Richard nodded, and they walked outside. "I'll drive us there."
