Richard's voice brought Pearl back to reality. Her heart raced when she saw him, his gaze intense in the dim light.

"What's wrong?"

Richard seemed different from his usual self, likely due to the wine he'd consumed. His gaze appeared even more intense than usual.

"You like Hanzel, don't you?"

Pearl raised her brows in response. "Why do you think I like Hanzel?"

Richard got closer. "Why did you shoot an advertisement with him if you didn't like him? Why didn't you reject his advances? And..." He trailed off, his expression unreadable.

Pearl used her hand to stop him from coming closer and whispered, "You're drunk, Richard."

He seemed to sober up a bit and stepped back. "I'm not drunk. I just want to remind you not to become Hanzel's girlfriend. What happened the other day should serve as a lesson."

His words sent a chill down Pearl's spine as she remembered the incident a few months ago when Hanzel's passionate and aggressive fans had kidnapped her and assaulted her.

Luckily, she was not much interested in Hanzel, or his fans would do much worse.

"Got it. Thank you for the reminder, but I'm really not interested in Hanzel," Pearl replied with a smile. "I'm going to bed now if there's nothing else you want to say."

The atmosphere felt tense and filled with Richard's undisclosed thoughts, making Pearl eager to escape.

"I've just completed my design!"

"What's happening? Isn't anyone going to fix this?"

Listening to their complaints, Pearl stood up and cleared her throat. "Okay, everyone, please calm down."

"How? Everyone's computer crashed except yours, Miss Pearl," a person mumbled, earning her a cold glare from Pearl. The person fell silent in fear.

In fact, Pearl's computer didn't crash because it was equipped with a system she had designed. Viruses could not hack into it.
