The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage romance Capítulo 2777

Still, Frank was more curious as to how he got on the wrong side of the lady. "So what did this Lugh Frankton do to incur the wrath of an angel such as yourself?"

She really did not have a knack for evil, and Frank could also see that she was not so naive that she would be tricked that easily.

The lady shook her head at Frank's question. "Actually, I don't really know what Lugh Frankton is really like. I only heard people claiming how despicable he was, so I already sent a challenge to see him and decided from there."

Frank nodded. "What if he's as strong as that black-clad man earlier and ambushes you? Since he's so despicable, it would be terrible if a woman like you fell into his hands."

The lady laughed. "You saw what happened earlier—I'd just kill myself if I had to. I'm just one person, and if I die, so be it."

Frank laughed in amusement. "I'm just joking. Anyway, Lugh Frankton isn't like that. Sure, he's no angel, but he at least still cares about his reputation and has done his fair share of charity!"

"How'd you know?" The lady turned toward Frank.

Frank passed her his forged ID. "Because I'm Lugh Frankton. Are you going to kill me now?"

"No way!"

The lady glanced between Frank and the fake ID but ultimately concluded that he was indeed Lugh Frankton!

It just went to show how easily hearsay could destroy a person. But in that case, Frank should not be so righteous as the rumors claimed otherwise!

"Do you think I'm pretending?" Frank asked. "I'm not, though—I didn't know who you were before this!"

The lady asked, "Then why would they say that about you?"

She clearly believed in Frank and grew to despise the people who had spread those rumors.

Frank nodded—that much was right.

The times had changed, and just being content with one's lot was acceptable.

"In that case, this is goodbye!"

Frank was ready to turn and leave when the lady stopped him. "I ran into a bunch of people before I came—never greeted them since I didn't know them. But I overheard their conversation, and they're coming for you!"

"I see," Frank replied and continued onward.

The lady smiled, shaking her head as she watched.

She really was a blabbermouth—that black-clad man earlier did not even last a second against Frank, so how could anyone else possibly achieve the same feat?
