The car ride back to the villa was steeped in heavy silence.
The moment she opened the door, she saw Logan Quinn sorting a stack of documents on the table.
Seeing them return, he immediately stepped forward. "Boss, should we move the Oceanport schedule up?"
It seemed someone in the Shaw family was getting restless.
Otherwise, Logan wouldn't have brought it up right now.
Winona frowned. The doctor had explicitly ordered him to rest at home, and now he was planning to travel to Oceanport?
"Logan, Dr. Harrison said he can't move his legs anymore."
Guessing that the test results were bad, Logan nodded. "Then I'll book a ticket for myself tomorrow and go negotiate with them alone."
Zachary maneuvered his wheelchair toward the table, his expression completely unreadable. "We leave tonight."
Logan froze, shooting a hesitant glance at Winona. "But your legs..."
"It's fine."
A rush of suffocating frustration hit Winona. If he went on this trip, would his legs ever have a chance of healing?
She felt like Zachary was doing this just to spite her!
Did he want her dead?
Taking a deep breath, she said, "Mr. Shaw, the doctor made it perfectly clear. You have to rest. Let Logan handle the situation in Oceanport. I'm sure he's more than capable of managing it."
Logan was about to nod in agreement, but halfway through the motion, the words 'Mr. Shaw' registered in his brain. He stopped mid-nod, staring at Winona in sheer disbelief.
Winona looked perfectly calm, entirely unfazed by her sudden shift to his formal title.
Logan's face flushed with awkward tension, completely unsure of what to say.
Zachary simply picked up the files Logan had organized. By the looks of it, he was heading upstairs, utterly ignoring Winona's plea.
Winona hurried after him, hovering her hands carefully near the back of his wheelchair without touching it. "Can you spare just ten minutes right now? Let's get the interview done."
She had to prioritize. Getting a ten-minute interview done meant she could report back to the news station.
