Winona Wynn and Zachary Shaw novel CHAPTER 135 by Jade Emerson read online

Regarding the apartment, after Luke's earnest heart-to-heart conversation, Natalie had agreed to postpone paying the down payment until the end of this month.

It was already the twentieth, and yet Luke was only getting busier. He hadn't even been home in three days.

Natalie knew his startup was just getting off the ground and finally starting to turn a profit. It was normal for him to be swamped, so she swallowed her frustration every time.

She had taken a ride with her client to get here, so now she had to catch a cab back.

But it was rush hour, and traffic was heavily backed up. With no other option, she slipped off her high heels, carrying them as she walked ahead. Once she cleared this congested street, she'd be able to hail a ride.

She held her purse in one hand and her heels in the other, walking silently down the sidewalk.

The sunset was absolutely beautiful tonight. Thinking of her future apartment, a soft smile touched her lips, her heart swelling with the joy of an impending happy life.

Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a passing car. She froze. When she looked back, the vehicle had already merged seamlessly into the traffic.

She wasn't sure if her eyes were playing tricks on her, but the license plate looked exactly like Luke's.

To save money, Natalie took the bus to work every single day. She still hadn't bought a car of her own.

But Luke needed to drive out and negotiate business deals. If he didn't have a car, it would look incredibly unprofessional.

So he had bought a car worth over a hundred thousand dollars. It helped him gain the trust of his business partners, showing them he wasn't struggling for cash.

But even though he had owned the car for two years, Natalie could count on one hand the number of times she had actually sat in it.

Maybe she just saw it wrong.

She turned her head and kept walking.

Right at that moment, she bumped into Winona.

Winona tapped her horn twice. "Natalie?"

Standing by the street, Natalie's eyes lit up with a smile before she rubbed her nose awkwardly. "What are you doing here?"

Winona was driving the new car the insurance company had compensated her with, a modest model worth around twenty thousand dollars that had just arrived the day before yesterday.
