Her lips curved into a dark smile. After the absolute disaster that was last night, there wasn't a single person in Empire City's elite circle willing to stick their neck out for Winona. It had to be Winona's secret lover!

Sienna's cheeks flushed with excitement. Taking a deep breath, she softened her voice to her usual sweet tone. "I see. Mr. Chandler, I completely misunderstood you. Don't worry, I'll be sure to talk this over with Zach."

She deliberately dropped Zachary's name as a veiled warning to Silas that she had heavy hitters backing her, too.

Silas couldn't afford to push her too far.

He quickly agreed. "You're absolutely right, Ms. Shaw. Though, even if Winona has backing, she doesn't seem to be playing it very smart."

The moment he said that, it clicked for Sienna.

Winona was already in the crosshairs of a massive public scandal. Even though the internet hate had shifted, it was a hard fact that she had barely worked at the network for a month.

The second the call ended, Sienna walked down the hallway. Passing Claire Wynn's room, she heard the sound of a heavy cough.

Claire looked up, spotting her in the doorway, and waved her inside. "Sienna, come in. I was hoping to talk to you."

Sienna's face instantly morphed into a mask of deep concern. She rushed to pour a glass of water. "Mom, have some water first. Your voice sounds so hoarse."

Claire gripped the warm glass, forcing a weak, exhausted smile. "I've been having nightmares lately, and it forced me to take a hard look at myself. Your father is right. I was too greedy, hoping you and Winona could peacefully coexist. I see now that's impossible. I won't contact her anymore. The Wynn family is cutting ties with her for good."

Sienna's lips twitched upward. It seemed last night's chaos had finally eradicated the last trace of Winona from Claire's heart.

Her goal was finally achieved. She wanted the very mention of Winona's name to trigger absolute disgust.
