Winona Wynn and Zachary Shaw novel CHAPTER 74 by Jade Emerson read online

Winona watched the dog bound into the room, clearly familiar with the layout, wagging its tail frantically at Zachary.

The dog lived at the Shaw Ancestral Estate, so Zachary saw it every time he visited.

He reached out and gave the dog an affectionate pat on the head.

Sienna's eyes crinkled with a sweet smile. "Did she gain weight? I went back to the estate tonight and heard she put on three pounds, so I figured I'd take her out for a walk. You haven't seen her in a while, right?"

"Yeah."

Sienna proudly glanced toward the dining table, her eyes flashing with sheer provocation the moment they met Winona's.

It was obvious she remembered how Winona had cried over this very dog years ago.

Sienna possessed far too many things Winona had desperately reached for and failed to grasp. Naturally, she felt entitled to be smug.

She unclipped the leash and seamlessly walked over to wash her hands. "Wow, the chef made all my favorites again!"

Taking a seat at the table, her tone brimmed with delight as she turned to Winona. "Winona, I remember you like these too. Our tastes are surprisingly similar sometimes, aren't they?"

Including their taste in men.

Winona picked up her silverware and started eating, completely ignoring her.

Sienna's eyes welled with manufactured tears as she let out a soft sigh. "Cynthia came down with a fever after returning home yesterday..."

Before she could even finish her sentence, Winona scooped up a bite of food. "I'm exhausted, and I really don't want to watch your little theatrical performance while I'm trying to eat. Save it for next time. I'll build you a proper stage, and you can put on whatever tragic play you want."

Sienna lowered her lashes, forcing a tight, pathetic smile. "I'm sorry. I upset you again."

In front of outsiders, Sienna's victim act was absolutely flawless, leaving everyone convinced that Winona was just aggressively cruel.

But Winona didn't care anymore. If she had to be the villain, fine. She was already used to the role.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Zachary approach. Too exhausted to argue, she kept her head down and ate in silence.

Sienna's incessant chatter filled the room. "Zach, eat more of this. It's good for your bones."

She piled food onto Zachary's plate, chirping away like an innocent, naive younger sister.

Zachary was calm and perfectly polite. "You eat too."
