Esther's smile froze.

Finnegan quickly pulled the car over to the side of the road and handed her some tissues. "Clean it up quick, or it'll be a mess when it dries."

She nodded and wiped the cream off carefully.

"Are you late for work? If not, we could stop at the mall to grab you new clothes," Finnegan offered.

"No, it's okay. I have extra clothes at the office."

Finnegan glanced at the stubborn cream stains and frowned. "But you're all messy. Won't the others at work laugh at you?"

Esther scoffed. "I'm the top celebrity in the company. Who would dare laugh at me?"

Convinced by her confidence, Finnegan drove her straight to the office.

Upon arrival, Esther hurriedly got out, bid him goodbye, and went inside. However, she soon bumped into the last person she wanted to see.

She tried to walk past, but the woman, reveling in her ruined outfit, blocked her path. "What's this, Esther? Why the mess? Did something happen?"

It was Holly Langford, Esther's archenemy. Holly felt overshadowed in the company and often tried to make Esther's life difficult.

Holly crossed her arms and tilted her head, acting self-righteous. "It is my business. You're using company resources and not maintaining your appearance. How is that fair to the company?"

Other less-funded stars agreed silently. They envied the resources Esther received while they struggled to maintain their figure with less support.

The women who were closer to Holly and weren't treated as well started murmuring among themselves.

"Do you want to explain yourself?"

Looking at the now nearly dry stain, Esther took a deep breath. "Are you done?"
