Julian scoffed. "Sienna, that's only because you were born lucky. Even though you were taken from us, God made sure you were raised by the Shaws. Living under someone else's roof might have been tough, but at least you weren't sent to some dump in the countryside. You were destined for a good life."
In the three years since Sienna had been recognized by the family, Julian had never once called her his sister. But tonight he did, clearly throwing a tantrum.
He decided that when Winona arrived, he would call Sienna "sister" as many times as possible just to get under Winona's skin.
In the past, whenever Julian got close to Sienna, Winona would get upset.
Thinking of this, Julian called out to her even more affectionately.
Everyone's eyes darted to the door as the doorbell chimed.
Julian, as if a switch had been flipped, bolted up and sprinted to open it.
When he saw Zachary standing there, his heart leaped. He eagerly shouted back, "Sienna, Zach is here!"
He purposefully cranked up the enthusiasm in his voice before letting his tone drop into a freezing glare. "Winona, what are you doing here? You're not welcome in this house."
He assumed Winona was standing behind Zachary, hidden by his tall frame.
But Zachary stepped inside alone, calmly offering the gifts in his hands. "These are for Mr. and Mrs. Wynn. I won't be staying."
Julian was utterly bewildered. He quickly checked behind Zachary, but Winona wasn't there.
Was she refusing to get out of the car?
Furious, Julian stomped out toward the vehicle. "Winona, seriously? Why are you being so petty? You've been mad for three years and you're still holding a grudge? Let me tell you, if you don't get out of this car right now, I'm genuinely never speaking to you again!"
He crossed his arms, his bleached blonde hair making him look incredibly arrogant.
He used to promise Winona he wouldn't dye his hair until after he graduated college. But when she first ran away, Julian had bleached his hair in a fit of rage. To maintain the bright white shade, he had visited the salon countless times over the years.
He firmly believed that the moment Winona saw his hair, she wouldn't be able to resist lecturing him.
